CCRC Bull-a-Rama
Coyote Country Rodeo Club started in 1993 when a few rodeo enthusiasts
went out on a limb with the intent to bring rodeo back to Vermillion.
Hosting up to 5 rodeos a year in Clay County, Vermillion was once known
for being one of the largest rodeo communities in South Dakota. In the
early 80’s, rodeo had soon been forgotten in this area.
Starting the Bull-a-Rama was a new experience for us. Being involved in
rodeo as a "Little Britches" contestant was a lot different than producing
one from scratch and then pulling it off in just three months. Fundraising
became our number one priority. The community came through with flying
colors as we kicked into overdrive the sponsorship drives and money
raising events. The event was an overwhelming success! The decision was
soon adopted to make it an annual event.
Home
to the Bull-a-Rama was the 4H grounds in Vermillion. After several years
of renting the arena for our event, we soon turned to the Clay County Park
Board with the idea of refurbishing the Clay County Park Arena and to have
a multi use facility for other rodeo events. The old arena was built in
1967 and held the College National Finals. Through the years, the old
arena had decayed. With the park board’s help, the new arena became under
construction in 2000 and became the new home for the Bull-a-Rama. Team
roping, team penning, barrel racing and 4H events have all adopted the new
arena as well.
We have seen a lot of changes in our events over the past few years,
including watching the local contestants the first few years and now we
are watching our own children ride. And now, Bull-a-Rama has booked
The Extreme Bull riding Tour! For some of you, this may be the best group
of up and coming bull riders you’ve seen and each and every one of them
will be doing their best to get to the next level - The National Finals in LasVegas or the PBR! So watch close, you may be watching a future world
champion!

The Coyote Country Rodeo Club would like to thank the sponsors, the
fans and all of the dedicated and hard working members who have brought
these rodeo events back to our community! Without you, we would not be
here today giving back to the community. As a nonprofit organization we
have donated money to many local charities as well as to local families in
need of help.
